Music inspires me, not just listening to music but musical ideas, composition and looking at written music as well.

My work is based on drawing but it is not still, it relies on movement, links between things and change. I often pick out the decorative aspect of buildings to draw.

Having visited India three times, I have become fascinated by the history and the links between India and England. I like India very much and I enjoy the presence of Asian people and influences in South Yorkshire, especially Bradford.

As Sonia Boyce said in her talk in Sheffield, “colour is a loaded word”. Sometimes I touch sensitive, but then important subject matter.
