2-17 September
Alistair Owen, Mike Gent, Nicola Dale and Paul Lewthwaite
Function is an exhibition bringing together the work of four artists who explore the lives of objects and their materials. The work selected belongs somewhere between use and ornament, but is often neither. Equipment is rendered useless, and everyday materials such as water or wallpaper become a surface for exploring states of mind. Operating in a realm of aesthetic function these are tools for imaginative thought.
There will be a specially commissioned Discourse text by Becky Shaw to accompany the show.
Alistair Owen is based in London, UK. Recent exhibitions include If… , G39, Cardiff, UK , Muse 269, London, and ZooManifesta, Italy.
