7 – 22 October 2006

At Bloc in October artist Mark Le Ruez presents an exhibition that brings together three new works.

The show’s title relates to a street and specific address in southern Germany where the conception of the work took place. It is also the title of the opening piece - a single photograph.

The monograph, Known Geography and Foreign Land and the film All Hope and Dreams Kept Within, explore concepts that relate to achieving a state of serenity. In doing so, both works acknowledge and embrace the intertwined stability, change and movement universally present within a single location.

The core of Le Ruez’s practice explores the interplay between stability and change. His interests lie within the documentation of a constantly changing site or landscape in conjunction with imagery associated with the stability of a domestic environment.
