BLOC’s forthcoming show is a solo exhibition by contemporary painter Ryan Mosley.
The artist recently graduated from a Fine Art degree at the University of Huddersfield, and is soon to continue his art education on an MA course at the Royal College of Art in London. Mosley’s oil paintings depict colourful dream-like landscapes, which include both real and fictional characters that appear to hover like apparitions on the surface of the canvas.
Through subtle use of colour and technique the artist presents us with snapshots that reconstruct vague moments from everyday life such as a moment from a film, a book or a dream. The title of the show refers directly to the artist’s attempts to reconstruct memories from a particular period of his life. The artist describes his work as dealing with the “non-physical, fantasy or hazy aspects of the modern world”.
