Spam may be regarded as an arbitrary intrusion into the fabric of everyday life, standing in contrast to other forms of familiar online communication. ‘I dream sense making’ depicts an extract of text derived from the language of an unsolicited e-mail. The translation of this to Bloc’s billboard could, we hope, pose a curious relation to the site, which might threaten its conventional function as a carrier for advertisements; although we feel more sure it represents our inability to identify the most appropriate context for our brand of nebulous artwork, where the edges often fray to the point of being unrecognisable anymore.
