Open Saturday 1st 12pm - 6pm
In an unrestrained setting, over 20 Sheffield based artists will show, works that they consider to be a guilty pleasure; something they have enjoyed making but have been unsure, or even ashamed about exhibiting. The art works are a last request, or desert island disc, a piece in the artists oeuvre that is dear to their heart but perhaps unsuitable to the outside world. Something that has been hidden in their studio is set free at Bloc Projects’ ASSEMBLY 11: Last Requests.
ASSEMBLY is a series of one-off events offering new and emerging artists a platform to show or perform experimental ideas or work in progress, within the gallery and its adjoining courtyard. Each ASSEMBLY event is themed; previous events have evolved around the themes of text, light, time and computer inspired artwork. Last year we focussed on Correspondence, inviting artists from Istanbul to work with Sheffield based artists to collaborate over geographical and cultural distances.
