On the 14th of December 2009 Lesley Guy led a writing workshop at Bloc space as part of the education programme, in conjunction with the video installation, Mirror, by Tony Caunce. Discourse: Mirror is the combined work of nine 6th Form students from King Edward’s school in Sheffield.

a.a.s. at Bloc Some instructions for infecting naturalism A paper written by artist and writer Dave Beech, as part of The Quatermass Code exhibition by a.a.s. in April 2006. For the show, the artists created a collaborative work in the form of a television set of a Science Fiction control room, using this text and the character of Quatermass as their main starting point.
Waging War, Playing Games Jessica Wyman is a writer, curator, and art historian who lives in Toronto, Canada, and teaches in the Faculty of Liberal Studies, Ontario College of Art and Design. Waging War, Playing Games was commissioned by Heidi Schaefer, the artist to accompany Might and Mane, her exhibition at Bloc and publication in May 2006.
